Carrier Expands Ductless Offering

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -

From Willis Carrier’s invention of modern air conditioning and Toshiba Corporation’s work to revolutionize the variable-speed inverter-driven compressor for ductless applications has come another industry-leading product line, now expanded for 2014. The Toshiba Carrier series of ductless systems for any room in a home or building where comfort is desired continues to innovate its systems with increased offerings and operating ranges. Carrier, the world’s leader in high technology heating, air-conditioning and refrigeration solutions, is a part of UTC Building & Industrial Systems, a unit of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE: UTX).

Carrier’s wide array of ductless offerings now includes 16 models that are ENERGY STAR-qualified in both heat pump and cooling-only systems under the Toshiba Carrier brand. Plus, heat pump systems are now available with factory-installed base pan heaters for especially cold climates.

In addition, the operating range of the new Toshiba Carrier RAS ductless systems has been expanded to zero degrees in cooling and minus 4 degrees in heating, which allows ductless to be utilized in even more applications, both residential and commercial.

“We’re proud to be able to offer our customers such an extensive line of ENERGY STAR qualified ductless systems,” said Meredith Emmerich, general manager, ductless and VRF systems, Carrier. “With our expanded ductless system offerings, we’re able to offer innovative and flexible solutions that can be specifically tailored to meet our customers’ needs.”
