WARRINGTON, England

Cumbria Truck Centre, part of the William Armstrong Group, has earned service partner status from Carrier Transicold, strengthening aftersales support for customers across Cumbria. As a service partner, Cumbria Truck Centre can handle the installation, repair and maintenance of Carrier Transicold transport refrigeration units. Carrier Transicold, which operates in the UK as Carrier Transicold UK, is a part of UTC Climate, Controls & Security, a unit of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE: UTX).

“Cumbria Truck Centre understands the importance of quality service and they display the high-level technical expertise, reliability, professionalism and efficient parts management that we look for in all of our service partners,” said Andy Wainwright, service director, Carrier Transicold UK. “They represent a valuable addition to our network and will trade as Carrier Transicold Cumbria.”

The Carlisle-based Cumbria Truck Centre, situated close to Junction 44 and 45 of the M6, was invited to join the network by Carrier Transicold and received the accolade after passing a stringent audit covering all aspects of the business, to which all members of the network must adhere. As an authorised service partner, Cumbria Truck Centre has access to detailed technical training and spare parts support from Carrier Transicold and has also invested in recruiting time-served transport refrigeration engineering expertise to join the team and spearhead Cumbria Truck Centre’s growth into the temperature-controlled product segment.

“Having Carrier Transicold UK’s stamp of approval is a great achievement for us,” said Brian Wheadon, associate director, William Armstrong Group. “Earning service partner status will help to expand our customer portfolio and offerings and provide added value to our existing customers who operate temperature controlled vehicles.”

Carrier Transicold Cumbria adds to a network of more than 600 centres throughout Europe, Middle East, Africa and Russia – which employ approximately 2,000 expert technicians – managing the service, repair and maintenance of temperature controlled equipment fitted to light commercials, trucks and trailers.

Cumbria Truck Centre is also a franchised commercial vehicle dealer for Isuzu Truck, Hino Truck and DFSK Vans, plus holds DVSA Authorised Testing Facility status and is an authorised tyre fitter for Hankook.
