Carrier is a proud sponsor of the 2012 NextGen Home at the Consumer Electronics Show scheduled for January 10-13, 2012 in Las Vegas. Carrier will help homeowners “Take Control of Comfort and Energy Savings” by showcasing its innovative Infinity® heating and cooling system to promote energy-efficient retrofits and upgrades for existing homes. Carrier, the world’s leader in high technology heating, air-conditioning and refrigeration solutions, is a part of UTC Climate, Controls & Security Systems, a unit of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE: UTX).
The NextGen Home is a national retrofit demonstration to promote the next generation of energy-efficient retrofits and upgrades for existing homes. It will tour several trade shows during 2012-2013, including the 2012 Consumer Electronics Show.
“We’re excited to exhibit in the 2012 NextGen Home since it integrates products that are green, efficient, safe and digital, which is well aligned with our goals at Carrier,” said David Meyers, vice president, Carrier Residential Systems. “Carrier heating and air conditioning experts focus on using intelligent design and technology to develop heating and cooling solutions that are sustainable, energy-efficient, safe and precisely engineered for homes. We are looking forward to sharing these new products with NextGen Home visitors.”
Within the NextGen Home, Carrier will “Take Control of Comfort and Energy Savings” by integrating its latest Infinity system, including:
- The Intuitive Infinity® Touch Control – Scheduled to be available in Spring 2012, the Touch Control will feature advanced programming options, wireless capability (when connected to a Wi-Fi network), and energy-tracking functionality, when utilized as part of a complete Infinity system. The Smart Setback feature will dynamically manage the inside temperature during the “away” mode to maximize energy savings, while meeting the consumer’s comfort demand when they return home. The Infinity Touch Control will have the ability to estimate and display the Infinity system’s energy consumption in real time, so homeowners can better understand how much energy their heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) system is utilizing, and make informed decisions about system use. With the added integrated wireless capability, the Infinity Touch control will allow homeowners the ability to access their heating and cooling system from virtually anywhere, including mobile applications supported by iPhone®, iPad®, and Android™ devices. It will also be able to provide a five-day area weather forecast.
- The Infinity® 20 Heat Pump with Greenspeed™ Intelligence - It is the highest heating efficiency ducted, air source heat pump available with a Heating Seasonal Performance Factor (HSPF) of up to 13, and cooling efficiencies of up to a 20 Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio (SEER). The Infinity heat pump delivers up to 69 percent higher heating efficiency in the three-ton size. It is capable of providing warmer leaving air when outdoor temperatures fall into the teens. Under similar conditions, standard heat pumps may deliver cooler leaving air as outdoor temperatures decline.
- The Infinity® 98 Fully Modulating Gas Furnace with Greenspeed™ Intelligence - It combines modulating and variable-speed technologies using the Infinity Touch Control to constantly adapt to a home’s conditions. The Infinity furnace line delivers precise comfort with reduced energy use, and is the most energy-efficient furnace in Carrier history, with an Annual Fuel Utilization Efficiency (AFUE) up to 98 percent.
