Engineers, contractors and building owners can now look forward to an even easier selection of equipment, effortless installation and enhanced energy management with the expanded line of Carrier® AquaSnap® 30RAP air-cooled chillers. Now offered up to 150 tons, these chillers exceed American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) 90.1 2010 levels, provide lower operating costs due to their superior full- and part-load performance, and have the smallest refrigerant charge compared to equivalent competitive capacity chillers. Carrier, the world’s leader in high technology heating, air-conditioning and refrigeration solutions, is a part of UTC Climate, Controls & Security, a unit of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE: UTX).

“The expanded line of AquaSnap chillers includes models ideal for most school, hotel and hospital owners and building managers, who are seeking the best performance,” stated Greg Alcorn, vice president, commercial sales and marketing, Carrier. “Each unit includes its own single-point power supply and multiple high-efficiency scroll compressors for quiet, reliable operation and true operating redundancy. The compact design also allows for installation in compact spaces.”

AquaSnap 30RAP chillers are available with several factory- and field-installed options and accessories, including a hydronic system option that maximizes pump efficiency and makes installation even easier. Additional options include hot gas bypass, suction service valves, head pressure control, cooler heaters, and an energy management module.

“With units from 10- to 450-tons, Carrier now has one of the most comprehensive lines of air-cooled chillers in the industry to meet our customers’ needs,” Alcorn added.
