Carrier Corp.’s Building Systems and Services Asia division has pledged its support for the China earthquake relief effort by making a $10,000 donation to the China Red Cross. Carrier Corp., a unit of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE:UTX), has also donated to victims by matching all employee donations via the International Federation of the Red Cross (IFRC) Disaster Relief Emergency Fund and the American Red Cross International Disaster Relief Fund (ARC). In addition, United Technologies is donating $250,000 to the IFRC.
Carrier has a significant presence in China with approximately 2,400 employees in 11 operations and 40 sales offices across the country, and a global research and design center in Shanghai.
“At this most difficult time, our hearts go out to all those who were impacted by the recent earthquake in western China,” said Ross Shuster, president, Carrier Building Systems and Services Asia. “We are offering our support to those in need after this tragic event and are proud of our many employees who are making donations to support the relief efforts.”
